Please, could you explain us the different between ‘preguntar’ y ‘pedir’ in English?
I have found these sentences:
preguntar algo = to ask something
preguntarle a alguien = to ask somebody
pedirle a alguien = to ask somebody
pedir algo = to ask for something

I believed that ‘preguntar’ is ask and ‘pedir’ ask for, but ‘pedirle a alguien’ doesn’t use ‘for’ and ‘pedir algo’ is using ‘for’.

I don’t understand anything.
